The expert meeting on effectiveness and safety of new oral anticoagulant drugs in the organization of the Clinic for Cardiology and Clinic for Emergency Internal Medicine MMA was held at the Military Medical Academy.

The Head of the Clinic for Emergency Internal Medicine MMA Lt. Col Prof. Dr. Slobodan Obradovic and Dr. Ognjen Gudelj M.Sc. from the Clinic for Cardiology MMA held lectures on new types of medicaments treating non-valvular atrial fibrillation and pulmonary thromboembolism. The attendees had an opportunity to learn about the comparative analysis of the therapy with these drugs based on the clinical practice of the MMA’s physicians along with treatment strategies, indications and characteristics of new anticoagulants. Results of the several worldwide clinical studies were presented as well as recent recommendations and protocols for the adequate therapeutic use.
